Rent Free in my Head

She lives rent free in my head

Her slender, gracious form.

Only once did she visit my bed,

Controlled passion the norm.

Her caring loving eyes,

Inviting happy smile.

Naive, but wise

Longing all the while…

For something different, something new.

To escape the loneliness that plagued her years.

Family loyalty made her eschew

And forfeit love for acceptance fears.

We have trust,

Caring and longing for love.

A controlled, attractive lust,

And a want to give.

I wish for a sweet surrender

Willingly, both becoming one

In life and love so tender

That never can it be undone.

From my grasp she is fleeing.

No longer will she visit my bed.

That spiritual loving being

Still lives rent free in my head.
